The difficulties of being a millennial conservative in college
Peer to Peer leadership is one of the hardest things to do in any job setting in the world, and college is no different. Everyone wants to be able to talk to their peers and have them see eye to eye on issues, especially those concerning politics. Being in college for the last two years, I have seen a number of students listen wholeheartedly to professors spewing political "knowledge" with no background of information. One such occurrence was when a doctor in my World Literature class said that if more Americans knew that most of the Germans were Christians, we would not have fought them as openly as we have been fighting Muslims. I stood up at this point and said that no American cared what religion the Germans were, we were more worried about their moving into Europe and the persecution of an entire religion. I ended up with a D in the class. I would like to believe that it was the result of just poor work but, up to this point and to this day, it was the only D I have received for a class. I embarrassed him in front of my peers, but to be fair, he did not have a place in talking about politics in this class. I am now in upperclassmen political science classes, and it scares me to see how my peers view ideas in the country right now. More of my class wanted the Socialist (communist) Bernie Sanders to be president than anyone in the Republican party. I am not a huge fan of Trump, but the way he has been bashed for every action is ludicrous. It is almost impossible to become corrupted by the bullshit these snowflakes push on students like me. I am just glad that, as of this moment, there are no safe spaces on my campus. I hate seeing my peers truly believing in things that destroy what our country was founded upon, and the even scarier part is that I am at a fairly conservative school. The men and women my age that are going to Harvard and Yale are going to be even more engrossed in the lies that their professors are imposing on them, and they will be the ones in charge of leading this country one day..
